Cory McBee, North Charleston, South Carolina
A little bit about Cory.....
Welcome to my creative world. As a graduate from The College of Charleston with a BA in Studio Art and a MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in Graphic Design, I work as both a graphic designer and fine artist. I have been a creative all my life and for 15 years I have focused primarily on graphic design. In 2015, I decided to come back to painting and I am enjoying the ability to work as both a digital and fine artist. My artwork is a culmination of my experiences and training as both a classical artist and a graphic designer. My work uses various geometric formulas to explore key composition elements, and bring them forward through my use of color and texture. I also use it as an opportunity to expand my abilities through constant experimentation. With influences ranging from Curtis Jeré, Willem de Kooning, Mark Rothko and contemporary masters I discover the beauty in the evolution of the object, place and idea. The search of how to find myself is ever evolving and takes a transcendent journey through color, pattern and form.
